ANGSA TEMPLE

In Indonesia there are found a famous temple. One of them is Prambanan temple. Who don’t know Prambanan temple? Prambanan temple is the temple group of Hindu by Dynasty kings Sanjaya in century IX. In temple Prambanan, there are found several temples. One of them is Angsa temple.

The Angsa temple has one empty room. The base area is 13 meters square and the height of the temple is 22 meters. This room was used only for stable for a swan, vehicle Brahma’s. Besides Angsa temple, there are found more temple, such as Nandi temple, Brahma temple, Shiwa temple, and Whisnu temple.

The Angsa temple located at front of Brahma temple, in the south of Angsa temple there is Nandi temple.

The specific features of this temple are in the outside of temple there are Buddhist statues and inside this room there are a well and dogs bones mixed with soil. There is no decoration on the wall. Maybe the dogs were intended to be a sacrifice. There is no painting and relief on the wall. In the backside on this temple there are two Stupa that broken. The colour this temple is gray. In front of the temple there is Brahma temple that has one entrance and stairs.

The Angsa temple symbolizes Brahma’s vehicle, Which represented as a swan. Angsa temple was restored by the Indonesia authorities together with the other two wahana temples and eight patok temples in 1991-1993. The cracked are 26 blocks and the broken are 5 blocks.
